Albemarle, NC 鈥 黑料正能量鈥檚 (SCC) auctioneering school, Carolina Auction Academy (CAA), recently held a graduation ceremony for the students. Many of the students traveled from Stokes, Harnett, Wake, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, and Stanly counties to attend this regional training
Part of the 96-hour training program includes a student auction and a final exam. The student auction was held at Hinson鈥檚 Auction in Oakboro where family and friends attended to help support the students. Students bring items to auction and the funds benefit St. Jude Children鈥檚 Research Hospital.
Betty O鈥橬eal, CAA Instructor, noted, 鈥淚t was a fun night for everyone. Our students were able to raise over $1,600 to benefit children in need of special treatments and research for childhood cancer. We also want to thank several Stanly County Commissioners, as well as NC Representative Wayne Sasser for attending the auction to help support the students.鈥
During a graduation ceremony held at the Crutchfield Education Center in Locust, Dr. Tammy Crump, Associate Vice President, School of Health and Public Services, along with Dr. Rita Love, Director, Health and Public Services Workforce Development, was present to confer the certificates to the students. Each class votes for two awards, 鈥淢ost Improved鈥 and 鈥淏est All Around.鈥 This year鈥檚 winners were Jesse Overton for the 鈥淢ost Improved鈥 and a tie for 鈥淏est All Around鈥 that went to Denise Francis and Robert Everetts.
Graduates are now ready to take the state exam and become licensed auctioneers in North Carolina.
