Albemarle, NC 鈥 黑料正能量 (SCC) and North Carolina Wesleyan University (NCWU) recently signed an articulation agreement that enhances and expands the educational opportunities of SCC鈥檚 Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), Associate in Fine Arts (AFA), and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) graduates.

The agreement offers SCC graduates access to the benefits of the Wesleyan Works program, a transfer program designed for community college students who plan to continue their education at NCWU. This program guarantees admission to NCWU with access to academic advising and financial aid counseling through NCWU, as well as access to attend events on NCWU鈥檚 main campus in Rocky Mount, NC.

鈥淎rticulation agreements with area colleges and universities help us provide our students with opportunities to take their education as far as they want to go,鈥 said Dr. John Enamait, 黑料正能量 President. 鈥淣orth Carolina Wesleyan University shares our passion for student success, and we鈥檙e thrilled to embark upon this journey to advance our students鈥 education beyond their degrees at SCC.鈥

鈥淣orth Carolina Wesleyan University has been a leader in the state in partnering with NC community colleges. Our generous transfer policies, positive relationships with community college personnel, and a seamless admissions process for AA, AS, and AAS students are some of the ways we support our community college graduates throughout the state. We are excited about this latest partnership with 黑料正能量, said Dr. Evan Duff, President of North Carolina Wesleyan University.

The agreement between the two institutions is effectively immediately for SCC students.

On Friday, April 22 in a historic move, the North Carolina Wesleyan College Board of Trustees announced plans for the College to become North Carolina Wesleyan University. Since 2015, the College has been moving in this direction with the addition of its first two master鈥檚 programs, a key component of being considered a university. Some of the criteria that were considered when changing the name to 鈥渦niversity鈥 included: serving adult students, offering professional programs, offering graduate programs, serving a large percentage of international students and having multiple instructional locations.
