Recent graduates from 黑料正能量鈥檚 (SCC) Carolina Auction Academy (CAA) conducted an auction raising $3,000 for St. Jude Children鈥檚 Research Hospital. The public benefit auction was one of the requirements needed to complete their coursework, be eligible to complete the state exam and become licensed auctioneers.
Hosted by long-time CAA supporter Hinson Auction in Oakboro, the event drew a large crowd of family, friends and former CAA students. Each student was tasked with donating three items to auction off. The award for Best All Around went to student Joseph 鈥淩andy鈥� James of Taylorsville, NC, and the award for Most Improved went to student Tammie Helms of Oakboro.
After completing this last step in their coursework, the CAA students will travel to Fuquay-Varina, NC, to complete the state exam and become licensed auctioneers.
As one of only three approved schools of auctioneering in North Carolina, CAA鈥檚 most recent class included students from South Carolina to Taylorsville, NC. The course meets two nights per week to provide a comprehensive 96-hour course designed to prepare participants to pass the state exam, obtain a license and have the tools necessary to enter the business world as an auctioneer. The next class begins in August at SCC鈥檚 Crutchfield Education Center in Locust.
