LIfT Program

About the LIfT Program

Learning Independence for Transition (LIfT) is a specialized program at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ created for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The goal of LIfT is to help individuals gain independence and prepare for the workforce or further post-secondary education.

Through the program, students build foundational skills in literacy, math, career development, self-determination, and social engagement. They also explore different career paths and gain hands-on experience in a variety of fields to help guide their future plans.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the LIfT Program, individuals must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Not be enrolled in the public school system
  • Identify as having an intellectual or developmental disability
  • Applicants must have completed the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) Diploma

Applicants must meet a minimum placement test score to be considered for enrollment. Continued participation requires students to show progress in the program.
Please note: Instructors are not able to assist with daily living activities. If a student needs help with eating, mobility, or restroom use, a support person must accompany them.
